
A journey towards a better society
Samatat Sanstha
In 1972 a registered society, Samatat Sanstha, was born to which Samatat Prakashan aligned themselves voluntarily. Our Sanstha deals with social services, book publication and research divisions. A civil society organization working for the education of underprivileged children, rural sanitation; and environment protection, started as a forum for multi- disciplinary thoughts and a better understanding within society that could prevent conflict, disharmony and distress. Of late, the organization has also started a project for the care of the old.
Our Achievements
The West Bengal State Academy honoured its editor Arghya Kusum Dattagupta in 1998 for his able editorship. The magazine received The Nehru Children Museum’ s ” Neheru Youth Award “in 1995 ,as well as awards from “Proma ” of Kolkata in 2004 and from Kolkata’s internationally renowned ‘ Little Magazine Library And Research Centre ‘ in 2010. Primary education project for tribal children at ‘Jangol Mahal ‘ in West Midnapur district of West Bengal. Received grants from MHRD ,Govt. of India ,for running 50 Non–Formal Education ( NFE ) centres spread over 45 villages in Binpur and Salboni blocks in West Midnapur . Ran the scheme successfully for eleven years until the Government wound up the scheme all over India . Donated for the expansion / development work of ….(Bankura ) and Gobardanga Renaissance Institute .
Future Programme
Old Age Home
An ambition project of great human significance has been undertahen by Samatat Sanstha. The goal is to establish an Old Age Home with as many humane considerations built into it as possible. The aim is to see that Senior Citizens living in this Home are not affected by loneliness and anxiety but will have innovative facilities will be provided among other recreational needs, in addition to regular medical attention. The senior citizens can also mingle with small children helping them with their primary education, etc.

Annual Function
We are organizing our annual function since 1980 on the third Sunday of January every year to felicitate eminent personalities of different fields , such as music, art , and social work or even fields of commerce .
